Bethesda Hospital East, part of Baptist Health, Unveils State-of-the-Art Cardiac Catheterization Lab

Bethesda Hospital East, part of Baptist Health, has opened a new Cardiac Catheterization Lab in Boynton Beach, Florida, expanding its comprehensive cardiac services to allow our interventional, electrophysiologists and structural heart cardiologists to provide the most advanced cardiac procedures to our community.

Jared Smith, CEO of Bethesda Hospital, welcomed community members and medical professionals to the official ribbon-cutting ceremony on October 1, 2024. "Bethesda Hospital has proudly served this community for 65 years," said Smith. "The opening of an additional Cath Lab is a continuation of our commitment to delivering world-class healthcare close to home. It represents a substantial investment in the health and well-being of Boynton Beach residents.”

The new Cath Lab is equipped with the cutting-edge Philips Azurion 7 system, one of the most advanced technologies available for cardiac procedures. The 580-square-foot Class II Imaging suite, supported by a 215-square-foot control room and a 125-square-foot equipment room, positions Bethesda Hospital East at the forefront of cardiac care. It’s designed not only to serve patients but also to attract top interventional cardiologists, further enhancing the quality of care available in the region.

The Cath Lab's opening fulfills the original vision for Bethesda Hospital East. " Today, with Baptist Health's continued support, we’ve transformed Bethesda Hospital into a state-of-the-art facility continuing to bring advanced cardiovascular care to our community," said Smith.
