Katherine Vu-Boast, MD

Katherine Vu-Boast, MD, is a pediatric endocrinologist and is certified in general pediatrics and pediatric endocrinology by the American Board of Pediatrics. She is assistant professor of pediatrics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. She received her medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston and completed her residency at University of Texas Southwestern and Children’s Medical Center in Dallas, followed by her fellowship at Texas Children’s Hospital and Baylor College of Medicine.


Dr. Vu-Boast is passionate about providing compassionate, evidence-based, family-centered care in a variety of areas including pediatric diabetes, thyroid dysfunction, pituitary disease, and growth and pubertal disorders. With her particular interest in the psychological and sociological determinants of health outcomes, she has participated in and led several initiatives to improve the quality of health care delivery in the hospital, outpatient clinic, and community setting. For example, she has served on the medical staff at children's diabetes camps in several states for the past decade. She is a member of the Pediatric Endocrine Society and American Academy of Pediatrics. In her free time, Dr. Vu-Boast enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, reading, and gardening.
