Patients born with single ventricle CHD undergo staged surgical palliation culminating in total cavo-pulmonary anastomosis (also known as Fontan or Kreutzer procedure). Improved outcomes after Fontan/Kreutzer procedure have increased survival but have also resulted in ncreased incidence of progressive liver fibrosis also known as Fontan-associated liver disease.
