Robotic Approaches to Cardiac Pathology

Pavan Atluri, MD, presents an overview of robotic surgery for mitral valve repair and coronary artery revascularization. Illustrating his talk with live video, Dr. Atluri discusses the preoperative evaluation for prospective candidates for robotic surgery, reviews the contraindications, and offers a step­-by-­step description of robotic procedures for repair of the mitral valve and revascularization of the coronary artery. Also includes an assessment of the benefits of robotic surgery, and future indications for the modality.

Dr. Atluri is the Director of the Minimally Invasive and Robotics program at Penn Medicine.
