Implementing a Grassroots Program to Improve Development for Children with Congenital Heart Disorders

Children who undergo open heart surgery in the first year of life are vulnerable to developmental delays, and are 11 times more likely to have gross motor impairment than healthy infants. What contributes to these developmental challenges, and how can congenital heart programs better support CHD families, identify delays earlier, and appropriately intervene to minimize long term impact?
