Gastric cancer overview

Travis E. Grotz, M.D., assistant professor of surgery and surgical oncologist at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, discusses stomach (gastric) cancer risks, signs and symptoms, diagnosis, staging, and treatments including hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) and immunotherapy.

Dr. Grotz's clinical research focuses on optimizing regional chemotherapy for gastrointestinal malignancies with peritoneal metastasis. Through better treatment sequencing and patient selection and novel agents, he hopes to improve outcomes for patients treated with HIPEC.
