Synchronous Hepatic Colorectal Metastases: The Evolution from Despair

Approximately 2400 US patients present with Synchronous Colorectal Cancer Hepatic Metastases annually. These patients comprise 15-25% of new cases of colorectal cancer per year. They comprise 25-50% of most large hepatic resection series for colorectal cancer and are believed to represent a patient population with aggressive biology and poor prognosis.
