In Dallas, Dr. Christopher Duntsch, a neurosurgeon, performed 38 surgeries. 32 of these surgeries resulted in severe injuries or death. Jim Girards, a prosecuting attorney, chronicles this tragic course of events involving physician substance abuse.  In a 2010 survey of surgeons, 15% had a score on the alcohol abuse disorders identification tests.
