HIPEC and Peritoneal Spread: A “New” Opportunity for Cure

Peritoneal metastasis is the sole site in 20-25% of colon rectal cancer.  Peritoneal metastasis is the second leading cause of colon rectal cancer. This presentation discusses the types of patients  and where in the overall treatment plan patients benefit from colon rectal surgery and hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC). The future implications for HIPEC are also discussed.
